Development and Research Internship

This is an unpaid internship but we can offer units of academic credit.

Start date: January 2018

Duties:

  • Research corporate and foundation funders
  • Research membership programs of other LGBTQ organizations in Los Angeles
  • Compile profiles of LGBTQ organizations in the U.S. with missions similar to ONE’s
  • Attend some fundraising events to gain insight into non-profit networking
  • Assist with event planning, mailings, administrative tasks

Qualifications:

  •  A graduate student or an undergraduate student with Junior or Senior standing preferred.

History Panels Project Internship

This is an unpaid internship but we can offer units of academic credit.

Duties:

  • Research specific topics from LGBTQ history and culture, primarily Transgender history using ONE’s extensive archival library of resources
  • Research images that can be used with the researched information and perform necessary steps to acquire the rights for using said images; conduct digital scanning of some images
  • Compile the researched information and images into coherent documents
  • Contribute your own experiences and views on critical thinking, social justice and community engagement as it relates to each panel exhibition.

Qualifications:

  • A graduate student or an undergraduate student with Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and passion for LGBTQ history, strong writing skills, and the flexibility to commute to our administrative offices and the Archives.
