April 21, 2022 – Days of Access: Finding Our Histories
Thurs. April 21, 2022
3pm PT / 5pm CT / 6pm ET
Public program on LGBTQ+ activist posters and archival access, associated with the Days of Rage exhibit
“Days of Access: Finding Our Histories” is an online public program that explores the potential impacts of making accessible and putting archival LGBTQ+ posters in dialogue with today’s activist and image cultures.
This program will feature curator Andy Campbell, co-curators Tracy Fenix and Austen Villacis, archivist at ONE Archives at the USC Libraries Loni Shibuyama, and activists Judy Sisneros and Jordan Peimer. The conversation will illuminate the process making posters available on the open web in a digital format; and highlight the importance of public access from social and artistic viewpoints.
The event is a part of the public programming associated with Days of Rage, a web-based multimedia exhibit featuring newly digitized LGBTQ+ activist posters from the ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries
RSVPs are required. You will be sent the Zoom login information upon registering.
Days of Rage is curated by Andy Campbell, Associate Professor of Critical Studies at the University of Southern California Roski School of Fine Arts, and co-curated by Tracy Fenix and Austen Villacis, current students in USC Roski’s Curatorial Practices and the Public Sphere graduate program.
This event is free with a suggested donation of $10. Your donation supports programming organized by ONE Archives Foundation such as this event.
