Announcing the Calamus Foundation of New York Matching Gift Challenge!
If you are one of the generous people who responded to the ONE Archives Foundation, Inc.’s appeal in September to meet our Board Matching Gift Challenge—thank you for helping us reach our goal. If you have not yet contributed this year or are willing to make an additional gift to support the important work of the ONE Archives Foundation, Inc., there is one more opportunity for you to double the impact of your contribution!
- Supporting the publication of the catalogue and providing a venue for Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in Chicano L.A., a ground-breaking exhibit that is part of one the country’s largest and most prestigious cultural collaborations, the Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA. The exhibition, housed in two locations in West Hollywood, has brought diverse audiences in contact with art and artists often marginalized in American art.
- Training high school teachers on LGBTQ history, as part of California’s F.A.I.R. Education Act. The symposium include a session on how to create a safe space for LGBTQ students, as well as lesson plans on LGBTQ history.
- Creating our unique History Panels series, poster size reproductions of news clips, photos and visual materials that are teaching aids around landmark events and themes in LGBTQ history. As part of the series, we recently completed a new Transgender History Panel series. The panels are made available to high school age students and community groups through various partnerships with schools and local groups.
- Expanding our traveling LGBTQ History Panels to reach thousands of people each year at schools, colleges, and civic spaces throughout the region.
