Date: Wednesday, October 16, 2019, 7:00 – 8:30 PM

Location: ONE Archives at USC Libraries
909 West Adams Boulevard
Los Angeles, CA 90007

Join us for a special screening of ¡Viva 16!, the 1994 short film by Tina Valentin Aguirre and Augie Robles that highlights San Francisco’s legendary 16th Street in the Mission district. Centered around Esta Noche bar, the film is an important document of San Francisco’s queer and transgender Latinx community and the vibrant spaces they formed against the backdrop of city’s predominantly white Castro district. The screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Augie Robles and curators Paulina Lara and Joseph Daniel Valencia.

This event is organized in conjunction with Liberate the Bar! Queer Nightlife, Activism and Spacemaking on view through October 20, 2019 at the ONE Gallery, West Hollywood. Guest curated by Paulina Lara and Joseph Valencia.
