FAIR Education Act Workshop: Including LGBTQ History in Los Angeles History

How can we more accurately understand Los Angeles through the range of individuals who have contributed, challenged, and re-shaped this region? Responding to the FAIR Education Act and the needs of our diverse students, this workshop will introduce participants to LGBTQ individuals and events in history whose contributions have shaped Los Angeles.

Co-hosted by Facing History and Ourselves, this workshop will:

  • Share resources and tools to teach a more inclusive history of Los Angeles
  • Include a tour of ONE Archives at the USC Libraries;
  • Provide interactive strategies for engaging diverse student voices, experiences, and inquiry into the study of history
